Now with the horses having their holiday and the youngsters not due to come in until 1st July I have got more time to do my 'housewifely duties' (?!) Housework is never top of my agenda but needs must. I am also trying to catch up with my sorely neglected 'un horsey' friends and am going for a walk and lunch with one today (Roz)and will make an effort to see the rest of them during the summer
The weather is superb and the garden absolutely full of fledglings and worried parent birds. I probably shouldn't still be feeding them but the parents look so worn out having flown countless miles trying to collect enough insects for those ever opening beaks, I have relented. It's funny watching the babies tucking into the food and the exhausted mum and dad encouraging them to help themselves, completely relieved that they can hand the responsibility over to someone else (muggins me)
I have also got a wildflower strip behind the office which has proven to be a great success - I will have to grow more for next year so that I don't spend so much on birdfood.
I must do some office work before I become a 'lady who lunches'!
