What an extraordinary election! Bruising to say the least with three party leaders resigning within an hour of each other because of their dire results. The Conservatives got a very surprising majority mainly thanks to Nicola Sturgeon who although she vowed to "lock the Tories out" did exactly the opposite by taking the Labour vote away in Scotland which then handed the majority to Cameron on a plate. I wonder how it will all pan out now with the SNP who despise our United Kingdom and the Conservative party, no doubt doing everything they can do to be a thorn in the Conservative's side? It doesn't bode well for the referendum or any other reforms. Watch this space.....
This morning we schooled Popaway, Lady Barfad, View the Dance, King of Angels, Val D'Auberge, Intimate Whisper and Ask Away. Lady Barfad (Goody) coughed a couple of times on the way to the gallops so we have decided to rough her off. She has had such a fantastic season and we couldn't have hoped for more, so it is not worth running her if she isn't 100% right. She deserves a lovely holiday at Juliet and Patrick's farm and will come back a very exciting prospect for next season as she just keeps on improving.
We haven't got any runners for tomorrow but we are running Intimate Whisper, King of Angels. Ask Away and Val D'Auberge at Garthorpe on Sunday. El schooled Dancer as she has got her very first ride on her sixteenth birthday at Whitfield on the 17th May. She did really well but was originally a little surprised at how much faster you go over the fences compared to eventing.
