Lots of mud but a really good days racing - When we first got to the racetrack they had just given it a second inspection at 10 am and it had only just passed due to there still being some frost in the ground. Thankfully due to the rain the frost came out enough for it to be safe enough to run both Tik and Murphy. We were particularly worried about Tik as this was only her second run and she can be quite temperamental and gets nervous and wound up with pressure but Holly was great with her in the preliminaries and Nick gave her a nice quiet ride giving her plenty of space and confidence, not rushing her and pulling her up when she got tired, leaving her wanting more. She also made a noise, which may mean she needs a soft palate, although the conditions were quite extreme. We and the 'Over the Page' partnership, John, Jen, Nikki and David were so pleased that she enjoyed her run and seems to have grown up. It bodes very well for her future.
Murphy was equally pleasing, in a field of eleven. He was up with the leading group and stayed with the pace easily. Once again the jockey (Immie) was told not to 'bottom him' and not to give him a hard ride which she didn't but he still came a very good fourth, only four lengths behind the winner. A fantastic result in difficult conditions and he loved his day out.
Both horses have just had their supper and have eaten up. Very happy, bright eyed and bushy tailed. Just what we want at this stage in the season

Murphy winning best turned out - Well done to Suzanne and Holly
