We found out at 7 am this morning that Brocklesby didn't pass it's morning inspection so the only choice left was Barbury Castle. We didn't take Exclusive Rights as we are hoping that they will reschedule Brocklesby for next weekend, so just ran Premier Gold (Lily) and Jess (We Never Give Up) Lily was going really well and was running in the leading group and jumping like a bunny when she suddenly stopped to nothing. She was found to have burst (nosebleed) out of both nostrils. She has had a wind operation so whether that has got anything to do with it, I'm not sure but there are various things you can do to rectify it so hopefully it won't be a long term problem. Good old Jess who only goes on firm ground right handed started off much better than expected (on soft left handed ground) but then hit the soft ground downhill and happily tailed herself off. Poor Kara had to kick and scrub to get her home but she jumped the last as though it was the first and the run will bring both horse and jockey on for when the conditions are better. Holly and Kara won Best Turned Out for Jess which brings Holly's total to 11 so far.A very good effort!
Mash thoroughly enjoyed his first day pointing and is about to help with evening stables. It is as though he has been here forever.
